I have neither the money nor the space for such a thing. Looks nice, just not something that is attainable.

So I have to ask.
When you could have had a RW plane for the price of the sim is it time to give it up?

Its a difficult call, lol...

RW Plane:
* Storage costs at airport
* Touch and go fees for landings
* Fuel costs
* Maintenance costs; oil changes, parts like spark plugs, oil filters, fuel filters, maint fee's for labor
* Tires
* Insurance
* Must file various flight plans on certain IFR flights
* At mercy of weather and elements

SIM:
* Storage fee (rent, house payment)
* Can fly any time, weather does not matter so long as you have power
* No fuel costs
* No maintenance costs unless you spill beer or wine or coffee or tea on keyboard
* No fuel costs. Power yes, but absorbed mildly into house power bill, not as much as $7.00 USD per gallon of fuel, which on a 737 cross-continental would be several thousand dollars worth, or in a twin accross the state, about $200.00.

I can see that Sim getting in more flight time then a real plane, lol...

I dont mean to be negative, just seeing the basics. I would love to have a plane.

That's the way I was thinking to Bill. I could easily go load up my radio control planes and go flying too.
..But first

Check all the batteries for leakage
Replace and/or charge them
Check all control surfaces, control rods and servos
Check balance
Pre-run engines to assure sitting a long time has not gummed them up.
Make sure I have spare parts (glow plugs, aileron clips, extra screws, wheel collars..etc..etc)
Fuel?
Check radio signals trans/rec
Load it all up (blankets)
Jumper cables for 24v starter
Drive to field
Unload (did I bring the pit table)
Assemble aircraft
Pre-flight
Run-up & adjustments
Fly

And that's just the short list!!

When done, reverse above steps. Wipe down all before storage :173go1:

I like the fact I can fly virtually

Well, if you click on one of them you'll see.
...My guess is $15,000 OR more. How deep is your wallet?
