Anyone interested?

I have found a number of fairly nice models that... if adequately refurbished... could be made into very nice finished aircraft... My specialty is textures so it would take someone like Perez or Obio to do the tekkie parts...
I am enclosing an example of the work that can be operated on very ... very basic textures... that detract from the attractiveness of the model...
If anyone can be interested, I would like to collaborate in "restoring" some interesing models for which there are only payware available or just nothing really available...
Comments welcome...

SRY gaucho, but this Stuka isn't a good example. I only use it as static aircraft in a WW2 scenery I'm working on. We have a very good one by Wolfgang "Wolfi" Faber. Together with Mortons repaints simply brilliant.

Do you have any other ideas ?

Do you mean the repaint is not a good job or the aircraft model itself is not good?

where ?

Where can I find the Stuka by Wolfi you mentioned?... I am interested in repainting a good model...

I mean the aircraft is not good. Honestly I can't remember where to find Wolfis Stuka, sry . Maybe here in CFS2 downloads ??? Or take a look at the usual sites. Mortons repaints you'll find at his site https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=7f2604cfe3f60274 Very nice work.

oh !!! you can also take the italian reworked by Manuele Villa and insert Mortons repaints "stuka_ra.zip" at flightsim.com

Sadly Erafitti's paints seem to have got lost during one of the hacks, but I'd agree with the comments about Wolfi's Stuka and Lawdog's sounds are always a good bet.

Yep, gotta throw another Kudo out for Wolfi's Stuka. It's nice! And Morton's paints for it make it even nicer.

Another nice freeware Stuka is the Alphasim one...and it's free as well. It's on the Alpha/Virtavia Freeware Page. It needs new skins for sure.

Excellent!

I can see this is a much better model... I can adapt my repaints to it... actually
make a repaint kit for several liveries... Thanks a lot...
Now I have to hunt for the original models for some of Morton's repaints - that are
very, very good - and an excellent starting poin for accurizing ... (like details [rivets, etc.] that are way out of scale and paint demarkation lines that should actually be fading into each other... (eliminate double lines on lettering, etc.)
The reason I was interested in the first Stuka was that it flies in FS9... but has a very crude paint job... can the original models of these Morton repaints fly in FS9?

Sorry I can't find the Alphasim Stuka at the freeware page :kilroy:

yep !

Morton had a website for his CFS2 repaints. Anybody know the link for that (if it still exists)?

It's on this page.

I believe it may also be in the Library here, look under Alpha Oldies. And it is of the later 87D variant, so makes a nice companion to Wolfi's model.

And speaking of Wolfi's model, there is also a very nice pack that I downloaded at Avsim, with a selection of Italian paints from the Maestro himself, Manuele, and some other refinements. Definitely worth checking out.

Morton's Site:

Many of the CFS2 planes that Morton has done repaints for work very well in FS9...once you tweak the config info to get them to properly list in the aircraft selection window. Some may need FDE tweaks to get them to fly right...CFS2 planes can be nose heavy in FS9 for some reason.

And some of Morton's paints are for planes that are originally FS9 planes that have been converted for CFS2 use. The paints for those planes will work perfectly in FS9.

Where can I find this G50?

Which G50 are you referring to? The one that Morton did repaints for and that are shown on his site? If it's that one, then head over to Simviation.com and do a search for William Dickens. The G50 is a CFS2 model, that works pretty great in FS9, has a decent VC (superb by CFS2 standards, dated by FS9 standards). External modeling is nice, may not have a pilot from external view...but if you fly from the VC you will never notice the missing pilot.

Try this link, it'll take you to William Dickens' stuff on Simviation.
