• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Anyone uses VATSIM

I tried it a few times, and the thing that struck me the most was how much concentration it took to fly the plane & actually talk to a controller! I really liked being able to talk to someone, and found the whole thing quite interesting. If I really flew a lot for fun I would probably use it, but since most of my flying is for product testing I don't use it. I say try it...all you have to lose is some time :)
 
i also have not tried it but from what i know of it two things is for sure you better listen to the Controller and you better know what you are doing.
 
I use vatsim anytime there is a controler in cuban airspace and florida keys. Can be a challenge.
 
I spent many hours flying on VATSIM flying for the VUSCG.

It was allot of fun & it greatly adds to the experience.
 
I've flown on VATSIM for quite a while now, the ATC has always been very patient and helpful. I suggest that if you're new to VATSIM flying, just make sure that you add a comment like "new pilot" or something to the comment section of your flightplan. Have fun with it!
