Apple Unveils new iPods

Hey all,

Apple today has unveiled some new iPods; iPod Touch, iPod Nano, and iPod Shuffle. The Nano now has a touch screen, smaller package, new interface system (graphics). The iPod Touch is amazing. New Face-Time system (similar to iPhone 4) but through WiFi, and I think it has a front mounted Cam now with video recording available.

Sounds tempting....

New Apple TV as well. I do not know much about this. Just found out. The Keynote isnt posted yet.
 
I bought myself a Nano when they first came out. Loved that thing! Then as a gift, my husband bought me the iTouch, and in turn he inherited my Nano.

I use my iTouch every day. I bring it to the office, plug it in and listen to music while working, etc.

Now I see that this generation of iTouch will include the "Face Time" feature, and for some odd reason, I'm not too "hepped" up about it. I can certainly see the convenience of having the ability to see each other while talking, it is basically a portable "Skype". Personally, I'm not into the whole face to face while chatting on the phone. But I'm sure I'm the odd man out on this one.
I won't be upgrading to the new iTouch :)

I love the new Nano format and colors though!
 
Just my luck. I just bought one of the newer ITouchs I good friend recommended it to me.

I can't belive pople will buy these things every time they come out with a new one. The used ones should be for sell at the 99 cents stores evey were by now. There just so farking miny of these thing out there.
 
I personally do not like the new Nano.. I am not a fan of touch screen anything as I watch countless people bust screens on phones and the like. Do not get me wrong. The Ipod was the best thing to ever happen to my music collection as I no longer have to cart around CD's, burn custom CD's, or carry cassette tapes (gasp).. The one I have now I bought in 2005 and it is still kicking. I guess I am going to have to get one of the 5th gen Nano's while I still can (they removed them from their website already) for when mine finally takes a crap. I mean I see the draw and all that for these touch screen devices, but for running/riding my bicycle/working on the car/etc I want something that I know is reliable and won't smash into pieces. Was reading in the description it says you shake it to put it on shuffle, so that automatically disqualifies it for the above things I would use it for. Be going into shuffle all the time running and riding the bike. You know what they say Allen, a sucker is born every minute.. Until people quit rushing out to buy their products, and line up for blocks around the stores (ala the Iphone/Ipad) they will continue to do this. I cannot fault them for it cause if I came up with something like this I would milk it for all it was worth too. I am happy with my old school one though, and no amount of fancy junk on it will make me change my mind. I want a music player, and only a music player.. Not a music player, camera, video camera, phone, web browser, and game thing all in one.

I would like to try it. I miss my iPod Touch. I lent it to my sister and it never came back home when she got her 3Gs. arrgh. They are so thin, its a really handy device. I want to say its almost half as thin as an iPhone.

ok .. now in the 2nd pic, bottom left, see the little line up of products? on the far right is the old ipod shuffle (new one didnt go down well .. funny that ..) now, its about the same size as the hand rest on my joystick (pic here: http://www.vmart.pk/main/images/cyborg_evo2.jpg ) .. now they've added a screen to something which isnt much bigger ... you'd need to have just bone for fingers and eyes which double as microscopes to even use the thing! :isadizzy:

Anyone else getting a bit tired of every new product being made for people who dont leave the town/city or do anything practical?
 
I wish they'd bring out some decent players with a good amount of storage space. My 160GB Classic is full and I abhor not having the entire selection with me. They need to sort out a 250GB or 500GB device. No video playback, no silly big screens or anything, just a pure simple music player with a massive capacity.
