It's ultra simple to setup. Advantages are that you can have realtime conversations. You can see when people are typing. You can setup different channels voice and text. Post endless media. Much easier to post any media or links to anything. It's not good for keeping track of really important things. Like explanations for for how to do things. But it has advanced search functions and you can pin things that are important. You can edit responses super easily. Ping people in various ways. All the best parts of forum with text messaging like memes GIFs etc. Stickers, sound boards etc. It can be chaotic but you can simply set the notifications to suit how you want to see things. IF you want ZERO notifications you can do that as well. It's much faster at getting responses from people. There's always someone around. Anyway. Just curious. But if you were to do it, it might engage the community more since there's more personal engagement and while you can keep channels dedicated to certain things there's more overlap for conversations. So like, I think you'd get more traction with have cross talks about different simulators. But I could be too optimistic too! LOL. Anyway....something to think about. It wouldn't replace the forums by a long shot. It would just be another way to interact.
