Flyover

I didn't check any other news stations, but Fox News streamed it live also. I split screened, and frankly Fox did a better job. They stuck with the wreath laying, and had several camera sites around the area, so got more views of the flyover, from different angles. Three cheers for the re-enactors that served as escorts too. the WAC was especially nice, as were the civilian re-enactors dressed in period. I missed Rosie the Riveter though.

MaskRider,

Outstanding post, thanks for the heads-up. Hats off to all involved, especially on this anniversary of not only V-E day, but the Battle of the Coral Sea.

Rami,

I'm glad I got it posted in time. My sister was happy to hear that it came in useful, too.

Wish I could have been there. Guess it was really a good show all round with the Flyover capping everything off.:US-flag:

MR......

...thanks for the links. I posted about it here http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?93557-Coming-flyover-of-ww2-aircraft but all I had at the tiime was that there was a fly-over planned. Recently took a trip to Arizona and went to the C.A.F museum but the "Made in the Shade" and "Ho Hun" were receiiving maintenance. Got go through "Sentimental Journey" though. At the time the docent said that they were getting ready\planning to go to DC.

Hiya Fibber,

Yeah, when my sister sent me the links and suggested that I might post them here I figure that somewhere along the line the word had probably already been passed. But, I just figured it wouldn't hurt. Didn't want her to think that her thoughtfulness wasn't appreciated, eh? ;^)

Yeah, I have driven by the sign the for the C.A.F. so many times over the years on my trips back and forth between San Diego and DC but I have never stopped. I really should make an effort to do so one of these days before I run out of "one of these days" to do it!
