Ok, I warned you, lol! Seriously though, if these are offensive, I will remove them
These are WIP's on Alphasims B-24. The Butchers Daughter was from the 319th BS, 90th BG, serial # 44-40190. The Butchers Daughter went down on a mission, en route to Formasa, 15 May 45. Five minutes after takeoff, the bomb bay tank overflowed, flooding the bomb bay with gasoline. 30 seconds after this discovery the plane exploded. One of the crew (S/Sgt. Donald C. Ruff) survived the crash, regaining consciousness under water with small pieces of aluminum floating around him. He inflated his Mae West and went to the surface where he was subsequently found by a PT boat. Pilot - Lt. Roy D. Breedlove. Information from B24 Best Web.
This repaint was done with a completely new template I made, which also has all new bump mapping. The template has all new panel lines, rivets, etc. It also has the observation windows behind the cockpit, the lower windows above the ball turrent, the window for the tail gunner, life raft doors and pilot hatch on top of the fuselage, and the rear crew door behind the bomb bays, which I believe was also used for a camera.
Ok, here is the big question. How does she look overall? I know it doesn't have the well worn look the original paint does, but unfortunately, I do not have the tallent to do the same. I know sometimes these questions get old, but I put several weeks into this template. It was a ton of work painting all those rivets and getting them to line up properly. I would really like to know if it looks ok to you folks. I know it probably looks too clean, but unfortunately I can't help that:redf: Would it be a paint you folks would like to have? I know its hard to tell from these pics, but I am curious how she looks from a overall standpoint.
I am proud of the noseart, I painted it by hand, which is hard to do with young kids around! LOL!
Thanks for your time:ernae:
