AT-6 sound files

I'm in desperate search of some "realistic" Texan sound files. Not so much the gear, flaps, canopy, but the start up and overall engine sounds. I have 5 or 6 Texans in my fleet and 1 sounds decent and the rest, while the models are physically better, sound like Cessna's. Having flown one, they are low, deep and throaty radials. I'm about 2 seconds away from just putting in Zero radial sounds in place of what my default sounds are.

Anyone have some files they wouldn't mind sharing?

I have AlphaSims AT-6 texan and the sound set is excellent!(FSX)
Throaty with a definite rumble!
I notice you are in Florida, like myself(Tampa)

Goto www.warbirdadventures.com

They are in Kissimmeee and you can fly an AT-6 for 1/2-1 hour
and with acrobatics!!

I did it last year and had a blast!!

I actually just put in Zero sound files from WOP in place of all my T6's. In fact, I have a very nice model of the Warbird Aventures AT-6 that I just flew. The virtual cockpit isnt that great but the outside skin is fantastic. The Zero radial is a very good match for the sound files. I might copy and paste some sound files from my D3A Val in some of my Texans as well since that model sounds very nice as well. I'd love to find a good pay ware model where the interior is excellent as well as the outside of the aircraft.

Thanks for the help OBIO.

Great Pictures!
I also had a DVD made of my flight....

And I also flew #4-What a great aircraft....

Have you tried Alphasim payware AT-6/Harvard?
I downloaded the FS2004 and then they had a FSX patch...
Great paints & good looking Cockpit

I will see if I can post some pics later..

I havent tried that one yet. I'm only using freeware, which is fine but I'd be happy to donate for a good model.

I did install the link you provided OBIO. That does sound great. At mid throttle, it matches the throatiness perfectly...Like, to a T. You guys are great here. Thanks again.

For freeware, the best T-6 I have found is by Wozza/Warrick Carter. I use his Texan and Wirraway models in CFS2 and they are superbly modeled inside and out. The VC is incredible. And the price...forgetaboutit! I like when things are free...not because I'm cheap, but because I am broke!

Thanks for the recommendation OBIO, Terry, I'm glad you like those sounds. :ernae:

Thanks for the sounds. I use them on a number of aircraft....Texan, Harvard, Wirraway, Lockheed Electra, and others.

I have a killer sound system hooked together for my PC. 500 plus watts, 4 satellite speakers, 3 subwoofers. I was flying the Texan and had the volume bumped up a little. My neighbor was in his garage, which is directly below my office/sim room (our half of the duplex is built over the two garages). I stopped flying to take the dog out and Chris (neighbor) heard me coming out...he stuck his head out of his garage and asked if I was flying my sim. I said that I was. He heard the Texan sounds and was looking out his garage windows trying to see "that low flying aircraft".

Your Texan sound pack is that good.

I agree. I'm astounded at the low, throaty growl that its got once at speed. Start up is so good, I have to keep starting it, cut the fuel, restart it over and over...It truly is incredible.

I'm purchasing that model from AlphaSim. I dont think I'll be disappointed. Thanks for the help everyone.

It looks like I need to get those shockwave lights too. There's a link here I'd imagine.

Here is the link for the shockwave lights(now called A2A)
http://www.a2asimulations.com/store/shockwavelights/

Go to their forums and you will see a posting for additional lights for pay and freeware-Thats where you all find the lights for the Alphasim AT-6

BTW-Unit453, Did you know at the Fantasy of Flight(http://www.fantasyofflight.com/) down the road from you on I-4 you can fly a PT-19 Steerman for an hour? About the same price as the AT-6.
