enabling one to make calls from anywhere in America.

I thought Verizon's 3g network let you do this with normal phone.... Verizon has beat that much into my head.:violent:

At $799 for JUST the phone. I can think of lots of thing to spend that kinda money on...

yeah, its pretty much a high end specialty, not for the normal people.

This would be great for survivalists and people that go deep into the land.


I remember reading these books called Left Behind. They had some of these Sat phones. It was so cool that you could be a hundred miles in the desert and make a phone call to a loved one at home in the kitchen.

Technology catching up with fiction.

I sometimes listen to these Tom Clancy knock off books while driving. You know, the ex NAVY seal guy works for a super secret, nobody knows about us, but call us if even the Marines can't do it agency. They all have satellite phones.

Except they always lose them, break them, or they are taken away by the bad guys when they really need them.

So, why own one?

So this is a satellite phone, but it don't work out side of America? If so how much is is for a real satellite phone that works everwere?
