There are quite a few sites with some very interesting 3D models, but before any are used you need to check the fine print, and obtain permission where required.

I have permission from one of the 3D artists to convert his aircraft models to CFS2, just sorting out a few computer issues and then
will be looking to convert his masterpieces/works of art to CFS2.

... I'm NOT suggesting that people spend their hard-earned $$$ on these just to backwards-engineer them.
There are some beautiful renderings, but EXTREMELY poly-heavy for our needs.... Perhaps they can be examined for their dimensional and well-researched attributes, then adapted somehow ?

Hello SC 
Most of the extremely good models will need to be thinned down to allow them to work in CFS2 without CFS2 becoming a slide-show.
They will also need multi-LODs and damage profiles as well.
In Hexagon 2.5 by DAZ3D there is an option called Decimate which can be used to simplify models, but care must be taken when used on aircraft/vehicles that it does not have an adverse affect turning a superb model into something it was never meant to be.

Just as a warning about where one spends ones hard earned dollars, EU,Yen,Yaun, Maple peso ect. About 95% of the models on this particular site are models found for free at 3ds warehouse, LSL model warehouse, and good old sketchup warehouse. I've most of the same source files from the afore mentioned legitimate free sources. Caveat Emptor!
