After a 12 day wait I finally received my copy of BHAH today. Unfortunately it is faulty (seems to be a problem with the CAB 'A' file) and won't install or copy to hard disk. I followed the advice you gave to Jeffsworld, who had a similar problem, and contacted Avangate to request a replacement. Here is their reply:

All is new, but problems will be sorted out. You won't get better service any where else.
 
Guys one thing you can check:

Make sure you are not overclocking anything - if you are overclocking mem or CPU then turn it off reboot and try again - you can overclock again after installation.

I have sent both your issues directly on to Avangate in the past 5 mins.

I know you guys with the DVD problems have probably thought about this but you should, just to be safe, try installing it on another computer and see if you get the same result. I had an issue installing a new DVD once and it failed with error messages. CDs installed fine on that machine, but DVDs would not. I tried the DVD on another computer and it installed fine meaning the problem was with my drive. You might just make sure before you go to too much trouble.
 
or try copying all three files to a folder on your desktop, and run from there?...Sometimes works
 
Thanks Baronmybuns and Widowmaker, I tried both of those actions before contacting anyone for support. Unfortunately neither proved successful. I think that the fact that I can do things with some of the files but not others just points to a corrupt disk/file.

Winder and the OBD team have been excellent in the support they've offered; it's been quick and helpful. I'm getting over my initial disappointment (ie I've stopped sulking now) and I'll just have to be patient whilst they get it sorted out for me.

You guys enjoy your flying but make sure you leave something for me to shoot at later!

I had problems with the DVD as well. I have 3 machines here each with a DVD drive. When I first tried to install using the DVD in my gaming machine it would only see the disk as a CD not a DVD and while it showed the files on disk selecting one would just result in a 'Not Responding' fail in Explorer. Tried using the 2nd machine's DVD drive and that failed too. So with trepidation and heart in mouth I set up the network drive share on the 3rd machine and tried again and YEAH! it worked perfectly.
Now I live in a very dusty environment and am used to CD/DVD drives only lasting 18months or so and had put it down to this, but that first DVD drive in my gaiming machine continues to work fine with any other DVD I've put in it ..... so I dunno.

I purchased both my graphic cards factory overclocked be a bummer if that would cause game not to load:faint:no matter game will be here today or tomorrow I'll find out then.
 
No it's 1 possible thing to try rather than giving up. O/C components can cause the odd random error. Don't worry.
