'Audi Buys Ducati Motorcycles'

That's quite shocking, actually.
Are there any surviving Italian independents, other than the Mafia?

Not that surprising; Ducati has huge debts and Audi wants to compete with BMW. Alfa Romeo might be next on the VAG purchase list..

I always said the only bike I would want if I would get a licence would be a Ducati, which is exactly why I never got my licence.. :icon_lol:

Good thing I own the only Ducatis I ever wanted.
I suppose we should be thankful, at least Ducati might survive to be run by a more conservative management group.
Hopefully VAG realise that diluting the product line would kill the Marque stone dead.

In fairness to Audi, Lamborghini has never been better, since they took over.
Italian design flair and German production engineering, perhaps a winning combination.
