Semi-Historical: This mission is loosely based upon 2 Gruppe Nachtjagdgeschwader 5 experiences on August 17, 1943. During the summer months 1943 the Luftwaffe began to strengthen the homeland defenses by transferring units from the Russian front and utilizing any unit that it could put into the air to intercept the increasing threat posed by the B-17s.
