Autogen

While we are talking about autogen... Is it possible do change 3d models of default autogen to custom ones? I'm talking about trees here...

There has been an 3D autogen replacement for FS9, but I have no idea how the developers did it.

You *might* be able to spice up the autogen with some custom models though by adding them to the default.xml. I haven't seen anyone doing this so far, however.

Thanks for that. I guess I just backup the AutogenDescriptions file and then rename the AutogenDescriptions_Min. Cheers!

Welcome.

I was thinking about adding some simple 3d trees to default billboard ones.

You could try to reverse engineer this one for FS9 and see how this guy did it:

Includes three different install options for VFR pilots, a mixed set for VFR/IFR pilots and a IFR pilot set. Enjoy how trees really look, and download this unique add-on for FS2004. The add-on is free but you will need to request a serial by sending an email. Info is included. By Dave Joosten.
