Autopilot settings for CFS2?

jinx

charter member past
Hello again,

I have tried to give the new Me410 an Autopilot and I am puzzled as the AP works but the aircraft dives 300 feet and climbs 300 feet or so as it flies along constantly. Turning to the set heading works ok but pitch is unstable.
I have of course backed up its original ac.cfg...

I borrowed the settings from the FS2004 default C172 and added them to the aircraft cfg.
That normally works like a charm in fs9 but here I get the dive\climb\dive\climb routine as the a/c flies along.

The settings I typed in are:

[autopilot]
autopilot_available= 1
flight_director_available= 0
default_vertical_speed= 700.0
autothrottle_available= 0
pitch_takeoff_ga=8.0
max_pitch=10.0
max_pitch_acceleration=1.0
max_pitch_velocity_lo_alt=2.0
max_pitch_velocity_hi_alt=1.5
max_pitch_velocity_lo_alt_breakpoint=20000.0
max_pitch_velocity_hi_alt_breakpoint=28000.0
max_bank=25.0
max_bank_acceleration=1.8
max_bank_velocity=3.00
max_throttle_rate=0.10
nav_proportional_control=9.00
nav_integrator_control=0.25
nav_derivative_control=0.00
nav_integrator_boundary=2.50
nav_derivative_boundary=0.00
gs_proportional_control=9.52
gs_integrator_control=0.26
gs_derivative_control=0.00
gs_integrator_boundary=0.70
gs_derivative_boundary=0.00
yaw_damper_gain = 0.0

============

Now I have a Colin Muir Beaufighter 21 where I have added an AP, as long ago as 8 years or more, and it works perfectly.

The weird thing though about that Beau is that its aircraft cfg has no [Autopilot] section at all in it, but its AP works like a charm.

Any ideas or settings you can propose?

Use AirEd and go into the air file. Locate 317 Autopilot settings. set to true. If you don't have a file 317, add one, and set. I think AirEd is in the SOH Library. Also look at or add 329 Advanced autopilot.

Thanks braveheart77521.

Yeah, I checked it out with AirEd a week ago. File 317 is there and it is set to TRUE(1). Don't know what the problem is, but she bucks like a bronco when you try to engage the AP. Otherwise, Shessi's 410 is such a nice AC, that I hadn't felt like bringing it up. From the sound of things, he's busy working on additional models. And, anyway I rarely use the AP except for level bombers, so it's really not an issue for me.

Try this....

Go to the setting file and turn on the auto-rudder. When I did.....the AP seemed to work. Go figure.
