B-58 Hustler, new screenshots and work in progress

Thought I'd post these new shots.

Hope you like them. She's coming along nicely.

That is smokin'!!! One of my favorite bombers! I cannot wait to try it out.

She has 2048 size textures with bump mapping, specular mapping and subtle reflectivity maps, I have tried to make it look as realistic as possible but remember, the Hustler was not generally polished in service, only the museums highly polished their Hustlers. However if you like the high reflectivity look you can always create new reflectivity maps etc.

I was not recommending highly polished, but some developers have created a way to render metal with a high level of realism. RSdw8gh[1].jpg

If you are thinking payware, I'd up the texturing a bit. If purely a labor of love, (and your work is coming along nicely), I'll take any B-58 I can get! ;-)

Hi David. She looks great and very excited to see the Snoopy version now included. Also like the trainer prototype scheme. Looking forward to some cockpit update shots. Do I see another "Can-Do" award in the making?

I do not admit to being old enough to remember these.
The fact that I went to an open day at RAF Mildenhall in the 1960s, and there was one of these on the display line is purely coincidental.

Hi Dave,

I'd consider myself very lucky to see one even in a museum! I doubt I'll ever get to see a real one.

Frank, you never know!

I was fortunate to see the Hustlers fly at Bunker Hill AFB, later renamed Grissom. My father was stationed there and brought me out to the hangars to see them and I remembered those capsule ejection seats. Also, open house day, they would fly two Hustlers flight demonstrations.

If you need a fix of B-58s on your system, take a look at Team SDB's Bunker Hill.

Rush shot.

You can get it at the pilot shop.

If only I'd gone....! 59-2440, almost certainly the last Hustler to visit the UK. Photographed at Mildenhall Open Day in May 1969. Was this the one Dave??

And this is my skin for it. Hopefully it will fit the new FSX model!

She was very shiny, and parked next to a just-as-shiny early F-104.
I was allowed to look in the F-104's cockpit, and remember thinking that it had the most comfortable-looking ejector seat I'd ever seen.

I wasn't allowed too near the B-58, though.

Previous reprints should still fit as the mappings have not changed for the exterior. I'm planning one more special version aside from the Trainer and Snoopy versions :jump: and then it'll be final items and manual writing time.

What 'special version' would that be I wonder??:kilroy: Hmm! Jo Baugher lists a few possibilities (http://www.joebaugher.com/usaf_bombers/b58.html). How about an ALBM version?? Or possibly a stripped Aussie with underwing ordnance (M82/M83) - that'd be good 'cos I've already got some Aussie skins ready to go. Please don't keep us in suspense!!!:eagerness:

The ALBM version is already included in the screenshots on page 1. It is another test bed, no pictures yet, but I'm hoping to finish off that over the weekend. :ernaehrung004:
