Hello all.

I want to ask about one of the old AlphaSim payware aircraft.I'd like to find out if anyone out there,has done a port over fix/update for the FS9 B-58 Hustler so it will work correctly in FSX?.

I still have the FS9 B-58 in hopes of finding an update port over for the B-58.I'm still looking though.I kind of dought anyone will be doing a fix.So I thought I'd ask here,and see what kind of feedback I may get.

I still have the AlphaSim FS9 C-5 as well.

In the forums it's listed as FSX B-58 Project, but nothing in development as of yet.

I have flown the B-58 in FSX, hard to land thou. :frown:

Thanks for the reply.

Nice vid,by the way.

I did install the FS9 version I have in my FSX.it didn't work out so well.I could fly it,but not without issues.I thought I did see the AlphaSim B-58 ported over for FSX,but I was probably dreaming Hmmm!.
it is very complicated to land it,with out bouncing.I found,to land it the speed had to be at leas 200 knots.
I sure wish I knew how to modify the acft cfg's and panel cfg's?.

I'm also looking for the ported over to FSX,the WB-57F long wing.I have seen a few,but they were for FS9 only.I think AlphaSim had this one as well.Let me know of any for FSX,or that will work in FSX etc?.

Hi,

Thats not entirely true, since I have the exterior model of the Hustler enhanced and refined, and native flying in FSX. I just haven't released any screenshots of it yet. When she finally gets a coat of paint, I will upload some screenshots here and to my website.

Landing is fairly tricky at first but with practice, the right speed, and the right AOA on approach it's possible to land very smoothly.

Regards,

David.

Thanks David, glad to here FSX version is coming along. I've checked regularly on your site for updates, hence the comment. ;)

Really looking forward to this one!!! :jump:

Is your website the link shown above the video?.I want to keep an eye on this plane as the plane progresses,towards downloading it for FSX.Are you using bits and pieces from the FS9 version.I'm also wondering if the different paints in the FS9 version will work on your model,when it's done?.

Thanks for the info.

Hi Yes, the website in my signature will eventually have some screenshots added. The overall paint schemes for the FS9 version will still fit, however due to the nature of FSX, I'm hoping to get some higher resolution textures on her. The model itself is being refined and improved over the fs9 version. The VC will hopefully get an overhaul shortly. Here's the Hustler as she currently stands without her "clothes" on:

Here's a few shots of the old FS9 Hustler with improved AB... still looks awesome! I've flown the Hustler up to Mach 1.6 in FSX!

I'm using the old Alpha F-104 AB.... fx_ALPHA_F104_AB

Fore smoke CS 707... cs707_smoke. Has a longer trail and smoother flow in the turns.

Excellent! can you share the config file positions for the smoke and AB? I have the FS9 model flying in FSX.

Yes indeed.

I'd like to get AB and smoke updated cfg as well for the FS9 version,which I do have installed in my FSX.At least I'll have some good afterburner effects,when I fly it off and on,until the full updated port over version that is in progress comes out.

The screenshot thats showing,sure looks good thus far.

Here's my setting. If you don't own ALPHA F-104 or Captain Sim 707, then you will need to use a different AB and smoke effects.

Just replace light 8 thru 11...

[lights]

light.8 = 9, -15, -22.1, -2.2, fx_ALPHA_F104_AB
light.9 = 9, 7, -12.5, -3.2, fx_ALPHA_F104_AB
light.10 = 9, -15, 22.1, -2.2, fx_ALPHA_F104_AB
light.11 = 9, 7, 12.5, -3.2, fx_ALPHA_F104_AB

[smokesystem]

smoke.0 = -19, -22, -2.2, cs707_smoke
smoke.1 = 1, -12.5, -3.2, cs707_smoke
smoke.2 = -19, 22, -2.2, cs707_smoke
smoke.3 = 1, 12.5, -3.2, cs707_smoke

Center tank removed for the speed run!

Great shots of a truly awesome beast!!. But can I ask, does anyone else get a no-show with the electrical and warning panels on the cockpit right side? Is there a fix for this?

As an aside the Hustler was offered to the RAAF at one stage!

Will wait (im)patiently for an oppportunity to put these skins on David's FSX-native bird!
