Just wanted to say hello to everyone! I was away for about a year or so, mostly flying in Rise of Flight. Some weeks ago I returned back to FS and started working again on some old project which is my first model of a plane. That's RWD-10, plane for advanced aerobatics from the late 30's. What I have to do is to figure out how to make instruments :) Once they will be ready, I will relase this funny thing ;)

regards,
Lucas

Lukas I see our conversation by phone :jump: ! Thanks for screenies! Looks very promising!
Put picture any nice lady in the cocpit with good resolution (for possibilty of changes by user) ;)

Good to see you back Lucas, but understand the enjoyment on playing RoF. That looks wonderful, will keep a head's up for the final.

Great looking model you got there for your first airplane. Very nice choice and era.
...Welcome back Lucas

Welcome back!! Heck, you can release that plane the way it is and I'll add some "paste on gauges" just to have it to fly.

Best, Paul

Thank you for your very kind words, Gents :salute:
When I decided to create some aircraft, I thought about some simple thing. The RWD-10 was a pretty good choice because it is a very simple construction. There is a very limited documentation regarding her, because there is no manual, nor any single plane survived the ww2. Apart from that, I have never seen any cockpit photo, so I had to experiment.
The main reason to start were the plans which appeared with some article about the RWD-10. It included some internal frame scheme and basic instrument layout. Having original model of the RWD-8, I thought that there had to be some similarities between them. This is why, some parts from that plane were used.
Iam more a skinner than a modeller. This model contains some serious bugs, shading issues, etc. That's why, the texture had to be much better to "cover" some of my mistakes :) Speaking of it, the exterior and interior are using the same, single 4096x4096 texture sheet. The specular is 2048x and normal map again 4096. Additional ones are: prop and pilot texture generously provided by Empeck. The last one will be for gauges, perhaps x1024 size, with normal mapping and glass. What is interesting, it will be mostly German gauges, as the DWL company used them very often in their planes.

Wow, I'm going to enjoy this, as I've always liked parasol winged aircraft. To have one as a single seater is going to be even more fun while I explore the FTX PNW/PF and FSA TF addons.

Thanks, Sundog, much appreciated!
Today I managed to finish the instrument's geometry, map it and paint. Now, the most difficult thing for me ATM - to animate the needles and altitude knob and disc :running:
After installing the gauges in the cockpit, I will have to rework the panel shadows to match the instruments. As I wrote somewhere above, all those instruments are German - made, because the DWL company often installed them in many of their designs prepared for the civil aviation market. The RWD-8pws and RWD-14 which are already in FSX had Polish ones, perhaps because they were used by the Army and there might be some internal requirements. But these are my speculations only. Sadly, there is a very limited number of primary sources.
