Back up install question

Before I slide 15 GBs + over to my external drive and transfer over to another PC I thought I would ask the question.

Do I need to reinstall the game again on the other PC or can I just slide the install over to the other drive and get to flying?

Provided I have CFS3 installed patched and with disk in drive in the other PC of course.

I belive you should do a proper install from the OFF DVD.

From what I have heard here, you can't just transfer files because the needed entries to the Windows registry won't be made. I recall someone tried this a while back and it didn't work for them.

What i would be interested in doing is, having installed on the computer, I would want to copy the complete folder in program Files to an external hard drive- and the same with the complete folder in Documents and settings.
Then if some changes, or mission installs etc etc create a problem, I could delete the problem install folders and copy back the "vanilla" ones for a trouble free sim?

I take it that that is possible?

do the same for

weather

and go to c,documents and settings, your name, application data, microsoft, and inside there you will fine an off game folder.
copy the folder that says MICROSOFT over to a safe haven.
it has all your settings saved in there for one thing.
if you cant see the path go to hidden files and folders in properties on youe start menue.
check hidden files and folders.
