i've a question: how to insert background images in fssc, visible in cfs2, without having bleedthrough problems with the surrounding 3d objects?

The short answer: Add in the background texture to your poly as instructions say and then add in the 3D objects as MB layouts/GSL not as FSSC (non destroyable) objects. See Maskrider's blended scenery tutorial for details.
