Bare Metal Zlin

I decided to have a go at a bare metal scheme from scratch using the knowledge I had gained from all my recent repaints of the A2A P-51 and the excellent bare metal effect used on that. I am actually quite pleased with it and think it looks pretty darn good even if I do say so myself ;) . What do you think?

While looking at the side view above I started thinking 'Hmmm, those ribbons on the side look a bit like smoke trails....I wonder.......!' Sometimes I get wacky ideas like that and I usually find that I am not satisfied unless I give in to my urges. I knew you could get the smoke effect to fade out and I knew you could make it go paler as it faded BUT....could you get it to change colour over time. Well, after several hours of tweaking the effects file, testing, re-tweaking, re-testing etc. I finally got something I liked and it is certainly errr.....different!

The smoke starts out as yellow and then transitions to purple over time. I realise that it would never happen like that in the real world but it is a lot of fun and it certainly adds another dimension to my paint scheme. When I upload it I will include the new effects file with instructions on how to use it.

nice job, thats certainly an eye catching smoke! follow it with the eye watch the plane bank towards the sun and get glare in your eyes.......... Fantastic! nice work!
