This Sunday is motor racing fans "sit on your arse day". Australia's biggest domestic motor sport event....6 hours of dramas around Mt. Panorama.:wavey:

Not me Terry. It's a real odessey to get there and back. Really need to get there a few days before hand and camp it to get a good spectator spot around the top of the mountain.

Luv the ole' V 8's racing specially the Bathurst, anyone warned the local wildlife?

regards Collin:ernae:

The roar of the engines and various flying craft buzzing around the place would scare most of them away. The Holden presence re-surfaces with the first 9 out of ten places, after 3 years of ford dominance. Anoughter classic Bathurst meeting that didn't disappoint. :applause:

Great week as usual.
All the usual suspects from my circle of friends turned up. We put in some serious 'Bench Racing' and enjoyed plenty of catching up.
A good result all round, as I'm neither Ford of Holden supporter.
Well deserved win for GT and WD (Rhiannon is a hottie BTW!!!) and an equally well earned top five for BOC, GRM, Sprintgas (Murphy didn't hit ANYONE!) and 888, shame about the drive through but chit happens.

Best sounding cars in the 1000 line up were the Perkins prepped 'Kelly' foursome.
Not as good as the Lambos in the GT events but close.
I miss the Porsche Cup cars but the GT series gets better and better, so that was good.

We watched the first hour or so from Reid Park as usual.....the very quick drivers were just brilliant and my better half made some interesting observations (from a 'Medical' point of view!) on the probable dimensions of certain peoples testicles! Weather was all over the place from Thursday at the circuit and earlier in the week on the road to Bathurst.
FWIW it was as cold as a Witch's Tit up top all four days.
Wandered down to the dipper for a couple of hours and on to Forest Elbow, then back down to the pits for lunch and the finish.
Worth the cold and the drive up despite the interruptions (pulled over six times by the Federales who only wanted a 'look' at the GT40R!!!!!).
On the advice of one of the Federales we left at 0400 Monday and managed to post some very quick runs without getting busted.
Under nine hours to make it from the 'Old Victoria' to Blackburn ..... :jump:

We'll watch the TV coverage during the next few days, see what we 'missed'.
Anyone who is a 'Bathurst Virgin' should make the effort to get there at least once, you might see more on TV but being there at least one time is a 'must'!

And a PS: The FPR 'PR Person' arranged a nice slot for the GT40R in their hospitality area.......... generated more interest than the FPR entrants!!
And their catering was really good.
That car gets us into some choice positions, as well as collecting all the 'Grid Grommets' posing on it and around it ......... note to self, leave Sofie at home next year!!!

Time to catch up on some zeds, been a very long week.
We leave for Philip Island and the MotoGP this Thursday, another lost weekend!:jump:

If they have some support classes on TV in the coming weeks I'll be watching for the GT40R.
Sounds like they have cleaned up some of those overly drunk types that used to get up the top of the mountain and cause trouble.

Ehm...what's a GT40R??
Replica Ford GT40 'built by me' from a kit, I refuse to call it anything else because it's a replica so 'GT40R' is appropriate IMV.
This is fresh out of the shop on the final day, five years after we started the build.
Must find some newer shots of the car in action complete with the obligitory race trim.
:jump:

Ah! Sorry, occasional visitor so I missed it first time round.
It Googled as something made by Garret for forced induction!
A fine looker...
Be good to see some more pics, and hear what's under the skin.
