Battle of Britain series of missions preview

Hi all

In my return to CFS3, I am working on a CFS3 series of Battle of Britain missions that I promised years ago lol.

Currently, I am re-working them to start in July of 1940 with the Kanalkampf and conclude in October 1940 with the Blitz.

Anyone have any suggestions of missions? Also, any beta testers available? Let me know through private message!

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Grover1,

Great idea :applause: Do you want to stick to historical events, or just capture the flavour?
One thing there is not enough of in BoB missions is massed bomber formations. There are notable exceptions, but that feel of beeing totally outnumbered is something I get from recent books I've read by British pilots.

Hi all!

Yes, I agree! There are not enough missions out there. But, I certainly will work to change that as much as possible. I'd like to do a combination of not only capturing the flavour, but also of historical events.

And Pat! It's been too long! I still have some of your work! If either of you are interested in testing, let me know!

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris, I'll glady test for you, I may ask in return that I can convert the missions for the BoB install though! :icon_lol:

After reading your post I've been flicking throught 'The Narrow Margin' by Wood & Dempster, you've whet my BoB appetite again!

Hey Owen!

I'll be sending you the missions as well! I've got a few testers now, and should really give me some good feedback.

Thanks,

Chris

You can cout me in also for testing these promissing missions, I'l send you my personnal pm.:applause:

Still learning how to use spawn files lol. Anyone know what role the Defiant played with the RAF? Also, does anyone know of any Cliffs of Dover scenery that is compatible with Jonno_UK's scenery?

I started on a Battle of Britain missions set awhile back and used the day to day site like Pat posted. For July 10 & 11 I did 6 or 7 missions to cover them. Some were intense protecting the convoys.

It's a phenominal website! Has plenty of information, right up to the weather even. Right now, I'm still working on the first few missions. I'm hoping to have some beta versions out to my testers as of tomorrow or Holiday Monday.

I'm really keen on BoB and the BoB install. It would be nice to see History of both known (eg: Al Deere, Bader (if not already done) and not so well known pilots. Eg: ..' a day in he life of..............etc'. To 'get in the hot seat for awhile' as it were, and feel what it was like. Can never get enough of that realism; as its always changing.

Although a different area; think the 'Closterman' series in ETO is a good idea. His book is just incredible.

Will be extremely appreciative of all you do.
