was a good day,air temp was 93F..they said the ground temp on the ramp where we were sitting was 112F,people moaned when the guy announced that,,lol...the best show of the day was when the Pietsch brothers did thier show,one in a 1946 clipped wing taylorcraft and the other in a 1942 interstate cadet...as the taylorcraft starts his show..the cadet comes out of knowwhere...(beale has a hill to the south,hard to explain,but the main runway is flat,then back towards the ramp is a valley and hill,and this blocks more than half the main runway from view from the ramp and airshow viewing area)so the cadet then flys into the middle of the taylorcrafts manuvore then looses an alieron and then does a wild series of manovers,,,one wheel touches the ground..wingtips scrapes the ground..he then lands on top of a moving pickup and later takeoff from it..there was a C17 that did an impressive show..tight turns..steep climbs,very short take off and landing..had the crowd standing and cheering...the "main show" were 4 L39s..people were leaving during thier show..kinda sad...was supposed to be a P38 there but it was a no show.and a C23 sherpa also did not show.
