Beaufighter Vic rockets dropping like bombs

I downloaded the Beaufighter VIC and the rockets on the first aircraft does not fire it rockets but drops them like bombs. Has anyone solved this problem? other than that it is a wonderful aircraft.

Where is the best place in the Dp file to edit the rockets. every thing is falling like bombs should. Someone who is a dp expert should know how to correct this problem. :encouragement:
 
The Rockets DP is set wrong or the Rocket has no DP in the OBJECTS_DP folder

the files are in the Object DP and the Weapons folder in the ScenerDB. when they are selected the just drop the same as bombs. I think they need a new entry in the gun section of the DP file.
I do not know how to correct the DP file. :banghead:
 
The aircraft dp file specifies where and how many of the rockets would be attached to the airframe so that does not account for them falling.

The dp file for the rocket would be the culprit.

The objec'st dp specifies what the object is and does in the [MISC_DATA] section by a number code in the unit_family, the category, and the weapon type lines.

For a rocket that would be

unit_family=4
category=37
max_weight= whatever that should be
weapon_type=5

I've posted this before but it's always useful to post again, here are all of the dp codes that we know about:

Weapon_type=1 (small bomb) - 30lb, 100lb, 250lb, 30kg, 60kg all uses the small FX.

Weapon_type=2 (medium bomb) - 500lb, 250kg uses the medium FX.

Weapon_type=3 (large bomb) - 1000lbm 2000lb, 800kg uses the large FX.

Weapon_type=4 (large bomb, same as above)

Weapon_type=5 (rocket)

Weapon_type=6 (rocket)

Weapon_type=7 (rocket)

Weapon_type=8 (timed rocket) - 8 seconds

Weapon_type=9 (torpedo) - MK13, seems to be for lighter torps.

Weapon_type=10 (torpedo) - Type91, seems to be for heavier torps.

Weapon_type=20 (Pylons, Pods, Parts) Used for rocket pods, various pylons and SID pilot.

Change the rockets to "wep_us_5_rocket_navy" as used in the default Hellcat, and see if that works. If they work ok then at least you know the aircraft dp file is ok.

Probably, is a category problem at the aircraft DP.

My son just tried this plane and the rockets work just fine.Maybe you made a mistake installing everything.He said there are 3 planes in the package and not all have rockets as weapons,that could be your problem also.

I reinstalled and every thing is working as it should. Thanks for all your help and understanding. That is why this is the best for help and understanding. :encouragement::encouragement::encouragement:
