This leg of the Berlin Push, 20 Feb 1945, forced several retreating German Armored divisions to become trapped near the rail yards of Koblenz. Here the Rhine River makes a long sweeping bend, catching German Armor in a pocket. The river is deep. And there are only 3 bridges for 2000+ vehicles.
