Best Backup Software

I know this is probably not the place for this thread but I trust the members here to know the answer to my question. For years I have used the Windows Backup Software found in the control panel. Lately it just isn't doing the job. What software package are you folks using. I would prefer to have something that is stored on a HD instead of the cloud. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks for any help.

I use Macrium Reflect (free version) which I think they've discontinued now. It installs as a program on your hard drive, creates disk images on the drive of your choice, allows you to browse the disk image for folders or individual files by creating a virtual drive which you can eject like a CD when you've finished. It's a 174mb .exe file, if you'd like a download link I'll create one.

I agree with tiger1962, Macrium is very good. You make an image of your drive(s) and if and when disaster hits, you boot from a bootable thumb drive and reinstall the image you've created. Everything will be there, settings, favourites, programs and even activation info in your registry.

Thanks for the suggestion. Definitely looking at Macrium. Also suggestion privately is TeleCopy. Most important for me is a system image. I am use to seeing one and several times having to use it to restore my outfit. Hope to get more input. Really appreciate any help.

I'll look into TeleCopy Tom.

EDIT: Can't find TeleCopy. Do you have a link Tom?

Cheers,

You have also Acronis and it's possible to embed Acronis in a bootable key (an operating system must not be backed up in operation so that a software in progress can modify/counteract the backup itself: 38 years as IT)
As this, I boot on my USB Key, I can launch Acronis and backup my C: on a disk (externe or internal).
To restore I make the same thing but I choose the Restore option.
It's also simple that this.

Thanks to all of you for the help. This is a big deal for all of us who now depend on these machines to keep important data. Very much appreciated.
