Best freeware cloud sets?

Any really good freeware cloud sets or tweaks for clouds out there? My machine still doesn't do to well with clouds for some reason. Frames drop bigtime. Getting some weird blinking clouds in the distance too.

AMD Opteron 185
GeForce 7800 GS
3 GB Ram
WinXP

you should reduce the 3D cloud percentage in your settings and the visibility to between 60-80mi. That might clear up the issues you mention m8.

I really like the clouds that came with Real Environment Pro. They look good and they are easy on frame rates. And they are free. REP will add lots of nice goodies to your install....well worth installing.

You have a GeForce 7800 and still you have performance problems in FS9 ?
My guess is that you should first investigate about the issues of your computer. Changing textures won't help your performance because you obviously have a problem.

I could push FS9 to the maximum settings with heavy meteo with a GeForce 6800.

However, the best freeware clouds are FS SKyworld 2004. Gives you several kind of clouds and sky colors, with a graphical interface to help you choose with preview screenshots.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+ @ 2.21GHz
1 Gig RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 6600GT (6.14.10.9371 driver)
Jetway 939GT4-SLI-G MoBo

My specs aren't too shabby, but with most everything maxed out, I still get 10-15 FPS in heavy cloud cover. I don't mind it though, since in clear weather I can fly the default C172 at 90+ FPS. I guess the term "frame hit" can be pretty subjective.

Downloaded Real Environment Pro and that fixed it. No more flickering/blinking weird clouds. Must have gotten some wonky cloud textures from somewhere. Now it stays around 24 fps. Got it locked at 25.

Thanks!
