Best way to view .bmp files that make up a repaint

Due to a hint Wild Bill Kelso (Markus) dropped concerning the FSD C-17, I am trying to compare sections of the repaint to that of the Project Opensky C-17. Problem is the FSD C-17 .bmp flies aren't visible in any of Window's built-in bmp viewers. Does anyone know of a quick and dirty (free) way of viewing FS2004 formatted .bmp filess?

You will also need the .dll package from Martin's site. You can find it way at the bottom of the PROGRAMS page.

Don't know if your aware of this, if you have an aircraft like the Iris F-14 for example, that has an FSX counterpart and someone makes a really nice repaint that's for the FSX version only you can actually make it FS9 compatible with DXTBmp. Open up the repaint and click DXTBmp again to open up a second window open up a texture file you already have for the aircraft and compare the two, some paints need to be flipped if so, click on the image tab select flip image and alpha. when everythings squared away, click file, save as - extended bitmap little window popup keep the file name the same under that save as type select DXT3.
