Hi,

Here are two JU88 C6 nightfigthers. R4GN and R4XM. XM has Schrage Musik. There are three folders - a shared folder, one for R4GN and another for R4XM. The planes need separate gun triggers as the forward guns are all fired using the machine gun trigger while Schrage Musik are fired with the cannon trigger. F6 cycles you through the views for the pilot and observer, F7 radar operator, and F8 rear gunner. Planes are designed to fly under hard. Remember these German planes had automatic mixture unless over ridden by the pilot. The AFN and fine altimeter all work when using the AIradar app. Very important, please use F1 to see the help file. It has info on trim settings, cruise and climb, and others needed info. The planes bank hard left (aileron trim), rudder and elevator trim are needed too. If you fail to set trim before you attempt to fly/takeoff the plane is a bit temperamental. You will need my weapons for the HE and IN versions of the weapons. If you have TOW Pt1 you are good to go. If not send me a PM and I will get them to you. What else, oh ANKOR shaders were considered so the plane has night lights and landing lights. Sound files are set up one for TOW the other for CFS3 original. When you find errors please let me know ASAP so I can fix things before I release the other 7 planes in the C and R series. Oh, the pitch for the guns may need to adjusted in the xdp to center on the gun sight.

Here is a link to the files, I tried to upload to sim outhouse but it said I don't have permission.....

Perhaps one of the admins can fix the upload permission issue? It would be a shame if new items can no longer be added to the library.

They have live radars which work with Steve's AI radar app and can do ILS landings with the app if one sets up the additional facility at the airbase location.

Thanks Ted! (y)

Edit..I've just noticed that when I've selected either aircraft, the game won't re-start again without deleting the uisel.xml file. Anyone else getting that?

Beautiful aircraft Ted! The cockpits seem to be well researched and are very immersive!! Excellent paint job! (Yours or John's?) I can't comment on the FM but it does feel like a heavy aircraft. Much heavier than the fighters I am used to anyway. And that's a good thing.
The only negatives are those awful CFS3 crewmembers! :p

If you want some feedback, I noticed a few things that perhaps could just be me but I'll post 'em anyway:

- There seems to be some flickering between the throttle levers and on one of the vertical canopy frames (the thin strip behind the bigger/wider one looking aft over the pilot's left or right shoulder). It looks as if there are additional/double polys in these areas (Z-order thingie).
- When looking over the pilot's right shoulder, the polys under the rear defensive gun's mount are missing while the edge/side of that panel is there. So the ball mount seems to be a bit in mid-air. Perhaps a conscious decision of yours to keep the number of polys in the VC down or maybe an oversight.
- In the gunner's position, the side of that same panel holding the MG's mount may benefit from a smoothing group. Then that excellent curve would look even better.
- A small typo: On the prop switch, the feathered position indication reads "Segelstilg". I think this should read "Segelstllg" (double L), as an abbreviation of "Stellung" (=position).

Then some questions:
- Is the 'L' on the fuel gauges the abbreviation of 'Liters' or should one of them be a 'R', as in left and right tank?
- Will you be adding click spots in the cockpit?
- Is the tail wheel a castoring one? There doesn't seem to be any visible animation in outside view when turning the aircraft.
- I am having some difficulty in understanding those German prop switches: I read "Drehzahl Größer" as 'Increase RPM' and the opposite ("Kleiner") as 'Decrease RPM'. Or, respectively, propeller fine/low (angle) pitch and coarse/high (angle) pitch. However, when I move the prop lever on my controller to increase RPM, the switch in the VC moves to 'Kleiner/Segelstilg' (smaller/feathered) while the gauges do show an increase in RPM. Am I reading/understanding the switch (or the general principle) incorrectly or is the animation reversed?

And, out of interest:
- How'd you get the props to stop spinning so quickly after shutting down the engines? On my P-47, the prop keeps milling forever after switching off, which I don't see happening in the videos I watched. I know, I should ask Rene, as he did the FM, but maybe there's a trick or something...

@ Clive: I can confirm your problem; it happens on my rig too.

I guess I only see the interior at night! :p Probably why I never mentioned to Ted. There are in fact several more C-6s and a couple of R-1/2s. I especially like the one with Fug 212 and 220 radars, both of which are functional.

Frosty- The L is correct the Germans would use label to distinguish the difference and from the resources I have there were no labels. On the pitch gauge must be me, I reversed the operation, will fix that. The Tailwheel, there is a c_wheel part, but let me check if it is correct. Will need to fix the missing parts to make it right. The flickering - must have double parts, need to check on that. Typo - well if John wants to fix it if not opps... John did all the texture work including the new gauges, Major helped with the clights and James has been a great partner sorting many things. The prop, I would imagine that it has to do with one of two things, the inertia the P47 prop creates or the friction settings for the engine. Again, many eyes are better than just the few that look at while building.

FM - I use airwrench and really try to get the takeoff, climb, cruise, and tip speed correct. Since I never flew a Ju88 can't say if it is correct. But once you trim it out it flies well.

Ted

From D3D8.ini:

ClickableSetupMode=0 ; Set to 1 to set part names and bounding boxes to aid in setting up the clickable cockpits.

Then create a yourXDPname.clickable.ini file which goes in your aircraft's folder. You can use the one in shaders30/demo to get started.
