IIRC ETO added extra "bang" to some vehicles. All you need to do is look at some vehicle xdps and copy over the explosion effects. Try starting with a fuel truck or whatever they call it.
Incidentally you could take a look at the list of stock effects list that I uploaded as a pdf (under CFS3 Other/Effects ) - you might find something there that you like.....
And to reduce the number of hits required before the vehicles goes 'bang', reduce the number of damage points. A lot of vehicles are around 1500 points. If the ETOR and ETON vehicles have more than 1500 points, they are probably too high.
