You may have noticed one or two gaps in our coverage of "other users" of the Bf109G-6 - well, this particular gap is now closed. This aircraft is from 101/1 Szazad, Royal Hungarian Air Force, based at Veszprem in mid-1944.
By 1944, the majority of RHuAF aircraft appear to have dispensed with the highly-coloured Hungarian tail-bands, but this aircraft, which shot down two 15 Air Force Liberators 0n 26th June 1944, still carried them. At one stage however, the yellow spinner and lower cowling appear to have been toned down with black and RLM 76 respectively.
