Ol' Gary has done it once more. Dropped these into Skyunlimited's 109 and they are awesome. In particular the start up and shutdown bits blew me away.

The video is pretty cool. I am guessing you flew it only once and then replaced the sound.cfg and played the flight back ???
If you like only parts of the unknown sound better than I would simply swap and match. The unknown one had a bit too much supercharger whine for my taste and not enough basso profundo....but that is of course purely personal preference.

Cheers
Stefan

What I do...for my personal use only....in a case like this where 80% from one file and 20% from another would make me happy is to
1. Create a new sound folder...say sound.R2800 and place it in my fsfsconv folder.
2. Copy in all the files from the 80% file including the sound.cfg file.
3. Find the 20% of .wav I like from file #2 and copy those in my new sound.R2800 folder.
4. Open both cfg files side by side and copy and replace the entries from #2 to #1 to make my 100% file.

Again this can of course only be your personal file unless you get permission from both involved creators should you want to share your new Mix with someone else.

Tweaks like the one Stefan mentioned are a good example on how lucky we are to have such an "open" architecture within FS9! Copying some files here, fiddling with a cfg file there - here you go!

I like Gary's new sounds - although the nervous Bf 109 (no matter which version) and me never became friends. But tweaking these sound to twin engine setup made me rolling Groundcrew's excellent Bf 110 out of the storage once again!

I think these are really good sounds... many thanks for the HU!
BTW the sound file that Gary did for Milton's wonderful Beech D18S is really fantastic!

Hi,

That's the Gary sounds V/S the sounds I use from time ago ..
The Garry sounds are good .. but I like the start sequence of the orher sounds.
Unfortunately I don't remember the author of the other sounds !!

Hi Claudius, (or should I say Ave Imperator? ;))

The author of the "other freeware sounds" is a German guy who did a freeware version of "Rote 7", based on Paul Rebuffat's Bf-109. (if I'm not mistaking) They can be found here: http://www.gkflusi.de/index.php (Günther Krämer's site)

I actually prefer these sounds over any other soundpack, free- or payware. But that is of course personal preference!

Happy hollidays everybody!

Ian
