Wasn't that released last fall.:kilroy:

Cause thats when I got it as freeware.

Don't know if it was released elsewhere before, but this was just posted to SimV Today (08 July 2009).

I've got a SU BF-109F-4 in my hangar that was installed Dec 07 last year, so this may well be the same one. I just can't remember where I got mine. Either way, I'll stick this for a couple of days at least so that people that missed it the first time can get it this time.

Thanks for the sticky guys. It was released awhile back on our website but I recently decided I would start releasing it on other websites. It took me awhile to get over the feelings I had from the original release. I was a bit dismayed that almost 10,000 people have visited the thread on our website forum to download it but not one person bothered to even reply, email, or say thanks to the designers that allowed me to do this. However, I will say we did see a pretty good response over here at SOH in the thread I started back then, which I was thankful for, but other than you guys I didn't see anything that would encourage me to continue to release or host any freeware, especially if the designers can’t tell if it is appreciated or not. It is both time consuming and eats up a lot of bandwidth.

I was thinking yesterday that one of the saddest things about what we do is that we never get to see a smile or look of enjoyment for any of our hard work. It might be self-centered but the thank yous and words of encouragement or sometimes all that keeps us going. Even as a payware developer the pay alone just isn’t enough to keep many people going these days, and I can’t even begin to name all of the individuals I have worked with in the past that have moved on to other things and stopped developing all together. I did several freeware releases before I started SkyUnlimited and back then I truly lived to see the community response from our releases. I believe SOH is still the closet thing I have to reliving those days.

I enjoy the freeware SU 109 package several times a week. And flying those beautiful 109s always brings a smile to my face.

Don't know how I missed the earlier release but I didn't miss this one!! The FR Gustav is one of my faves and gets regular flight time along with the T-6 from SU.

Thanks Jessie for this release and to the entire team for all the work that went into this model.

Talk about a kid in a candy shop!

Hey Jesse I hear ya. I think sometimes people dont have a clue as so how many shear hours alone we put into a top shelf addon just to get either no responce or complaints over small minisquel things.I know I alone put in over 2000 hours minimum into my addons. And I get paid at Sony 150 bucks an hour for this work and here I do it for free most times.

I too at times think of all the great people I have had the opertunity to work with over the 12 years I have been around and non.. and I mean not one of them is here today, Im talking very talented skilled peeps, only cause there is such a lack of appreciation.
Why do you think I just drop out of sight for a year at a time?? Cause I have better things to do then to listen to some guy who cant fanthom how hard it is to build this **** cry and whine over a small detail that is missed or that you havent released your FREE addon on time. Not being a ass here but when i look over at my incredible wife and kids who patiantly let dad follow is dream and they lovingly wait for me to finish off that last little detail.. I sumtimes wonder why the hell I do it.

Anyways, Jesse in my opinion is one of the best people in this community to deal with, he is honest and hard working and to see a post from a great kid like him tells me something that is not cool around flight sim in general.

Jesse You need to be selfish to survive in this, I do it for the sole purpose of ...ME! I love to build stuff for flight sim cause it makes ME HAPPY. You need to do the same thing. I never think of the money it might make me or the fame I might get cause it dosent matter to me at all... I think it shows in my work.

You have to build 1st and fore most for your self, think of the happy button clicking loud mouth crap posting down loaders last. I do that and its the only way I can keep on going. I will never stop designing and I will always be here either loved or hated, they will always come and get my freeware addons or payware... Dont get down Jesse I think you are one of the last great addon guys around, and loseing guys to burn out is a dam shame.

i too feel that the Out House here is that last safe haven for us godo designers that actually care for the community. Its just a great place to hang out.

Nuff said.

Duckie this one isn't the FR 109's, this is the one we had long before Flight Replicas started selling theirs. I took this one off the market because I thought Flight Replicas was more up to current standards and wanted to avoid confusion.

Hey Jesse,

Thanks for the heads up, but the screen shots and it's origins tell me it is still worthy and welcome addition to my WWII hangar, especially since I don't have a Friedrich, and besides, the price is right!

Regards,
Steve

Had this one since the original free release and love it, don't have the FR ones yet, have been waiting for my local stores to get the disc in, still waiting, lol.

Big thanks for her, I've said it before, but worth saying it again :d

I have many of your planes, all except one of the P38 packs IIRC even the CFS3 releases (which I've barely used, due to the sim not the planes) (oh, don't have the CFS3 Mig3, she didn't really fit in the ETO.)

Thanks again guys!!
Jamie

PS.musta overlooked the paintkit first time, thanks for that too.

Cerberus...

You are absolutely correct in your sentiments. Nowadays we are all in such a hurry (damned "multi-tasking"!!) that politeness and even civility are forgotten concepts. Didn't our mothers teach us to say thank you?

I D/L'd the 109 yesterday but haven't yet installed it. Nevertheless, a hearty THANK YOU to the entire team.

Hey, is there a chance that I could get a replacement prop-textures. The default texture doesn't sit quite right with me, and I do mean the spinner one, not the actual blade texture.:kilroy:

Jesse, I bought this set while it was still payware, as well as all the other ones you have. Trouble is, because of R/L constraints, I haven't even loaded all of them. Same goes for a huge number of freeware downloads.

I understand what you mean about at least the thank you's from us, an I'll admit that sometimes I don't post them, and rarely email them. But I want you, Tom, and all the other developers out there to know, that this is one simmer, who has tried, and so far, failed to learn the modeling/painting skills, and therefore understands the work that goes into each and every one. And I want to thank you all, for all past, and future contributions to this great hobby.

THANK YOU ALL!! :ernae: :ernae: :applause::applause::applause:

I guess this will "stick" around for a few more days then! Jesse, you also have my thanks for untold hours of using much more patience than I'll ever have!

Hi, Jesse!

To express my appreciation of your work, I'd like to dedicate this scan from Wren's Oddentification to your Friedrich:

(For those who do not know:
"Wren's Oddentification" was a series of aircraft identification cartoons in WWII.)

The -F of course wasn't futile.
I only wish your Schmitt wasn't that hard to get into the air straight... :icon_lol:

Cheers,
Markus.

Funny, I was going through my backup CDs just last night and came across your 109 that I purchased a couple years back. Also found a folder with 60-some screenshots of it. Good times, there! :)
