This Messerschmitt E-1 was flown by Oberleutnant Dietrich Robitzsch during the assault on De Kooy airfield on May 10th 1940. After being schot by the Fokker D.XXI from Henk Overvest, Robitzsch had to perform a belly landing on the airfield. Unlucky for him de Kooy airfield is very near to the naval base of Den Helder.
