Bijan's Seasons just got an update to v. 7.3

I just got an e-mail from Simmarket (where I had originally purchased it) that Bijan's 4 Seasons pack had
been updated to version 7.3.

Huh! I haven't used it in a long time, I've been using Accuseason instead. But I'm tempted to try Bijan's just
to see what changes have been made and how it compares.

Anybody else updated and tried yet?

Yes, at least if you purchased Bijan's 4 Seasons from Simmarket. I assume other vendors will
also be free once they post the updated version.

I tried out though, and went back to using Accuseason. It's not night and day, but Accuseason
just seems a bit more polished. Or maybe I've just gotten more used to it's look.
 
V8 is out now. It's a 9.95 Euro update for current owners. Price is justified as it adds a ton of new features, such as volcanic eruptions and forest fires.

However, Bijan uses a special installer that is not compatible with Addons Linker or Community drag-and-drop, and requires you to send him a hardware ID so your serial number can be tied to your specific computer. Wish I'd known that before I paid for the upgrade. I won't be installing the upgrade unless he changes this (he seemed surprised I had issues with it), which is disappointing as the content looks good.

Alerting y'all because the product page does not warn of the custom installer.

(Also, Bijan disappeared for about a year a while back due to personal issues... Don't really want to depend on him sending me a new serial number via gmail if I make a change to my hardware configuration, given that.)

I use the Bijan trees, but not spending any more money on 2020 now. From a video released yesterday, 2024 has seasonal textures built in so i don't see this being carried over.
 
BTW, Bijan updated the installer to work with Addons Linker/drag and drop. Less automated, but more control for the user.

He's said he'll update as appropriate for 2024 once he can see how the new sim handles things. There will probably be opportunities for him to tweak in more detail/accuracy in some regions compared to MS's focus on the full planet. And the new update adds some stuff like waterfalls, erupting volcanos, etc. that will still add to 2024.

Yeah, definitely not as needed, but if you spend the $9.95 now to update to V8 you'll likely still get some usage after transitioning to 2024.
