Bing Map Enhancement?

I gave this a try today and actually found that at least in my North Texas area the change was quite nice. The coloring seemed to be more in line with what I know for this part of Texas. I'm going to do some more flying in other areas (South Jersey, Florida, Oregon and "Vegas Baby"), just to see if I can see any real difference.

Anyone else have any experience with this mod?

Very impressed initially but not sure now. Almost two months ago when this was put on the table.

You must've seen this ?.... https://sim-outhouse.org/sohforums/threads/islandsimpilot-strikes-again.150227/

I have no clue if i'm still seeing the updated Bing maps or not what with all the World updates and that sort of thing. I fly (or rather 'hop' ) from one end of our beautiful virtual world to another and it just looks mind boggling (or should i say 'mind bingling' ..) Who can tell what i'm looking at down there ???.... I wonder, shouldn't we redo the process of replacing Bing maps with the latest version every now and then ?....

The app works perfectly. My only disappointment is the Google and Bing maps are not updated. I use my home as a way to check. There are significant changes made 3 years ago to my house and yard that are still not showing. I have checked the updated Bing map link and it shows the same map old map as the app. Not updated. Google Pro does have an updated map. I wish to stay with freeware so guess I can't complain. Still looks great in MSFS, just not updated for the last several years.

The Bing Map Enhancement makes a huge difference in my area. Really a different sim. I think it depends on region though, I've seen some that really didn't improve much.

I have to agree Tom. The app indicates that it uses the "most recent" maps but leaves out that it's not really as recent as most would expect. Still, I do see an improvement and the price is certainly within my means, lol.

Well, I don't know about this one. However, I once tried the Google app. Neither Bing nor Google represent the area south of KARA correctly. They show the Cypremort Point area as an island, when it is actually a peninsula. Strangely, both Google maps and Bing maps show it correctly, but MSFS doesn’t. Old FSX/P3D displayed it correctly.

Since this is the airport where I first learned to fly and is now my home base airport it is disappointing to have it shown incorrectly. I have flown over this area many times in real life and know it. You overfly it on the ILS approach to RWY 35.

Looks like I'm the outlier here. I tried the map updater. Tried to make more than a couple of flights to evaluate but in about 3 to 4 minutes the sim freezes and 15 seconds later crashes back to the desktop. I don't think it has to do with location. Tried flights in N. America, New Zealand, Iceland Norway, and South Africa with the same results. Various aircraft, etc. I set it up per the instructions and not running it as Admin.
Removed and everything works 4.0.
