Well, a lot off topic, but .....

We're being battered by high winds & heavy rain again today (spent two hours stuck on a train because it got hit by a tree) and but I just wanted to say that I hope all my fellow UK Outhousers are keeping safe.

Hey Andy --

Good hearing from you, mate. Sorry to hear it's so soggy and windy where you are. Hope you're keeping safe too. Hope all of the SOH'ers are staying warm and toasty, and have a Great Holiday as well.

Cheers -- BB686:US-flag:

Yeah, I'm indoors & intend to stay here for the duration. The drivers cab on our train was a bit of a mess, but nobody was hurt, just inconvenienced a little; it actually brings out the best in Brits, people who were previously dour & uncommunicative were suddenly chatting like old friends, offering each other lifts etc. Quite funny really.

But they are talking Force 12 winds down on the coast, which could get quite nasty for Stuart and others. As I said, hope all stay safe & warm - an excuse to clock off early for Crimbo as well. :)

Hope yall stay safe! It explains the Real Wx I was getting around Mildenhall today.

Right now the Dutch coast is being battered too. Here in Amsterdam the gales are roaring around my flat. Quite a racket! Too loud to sleep. ;)

Stay safe everyone in the UK, Ireland and Holland.

Cheers,
Maarten

Hello to all...

Everything is safe and sound down here on the coast.
Apart from fallen trees and localized flooding, I haven't heard of any major damage.
It was a wild night though. Quite spooky. We had a permanent, low rumbling bass sound, caused by the waves smashing on the beach,
accompanied by a dauntig howl of the wind hitting the masts and rigging of sailing boats.
The trains are still not running this morning -which is OK- otherwise we would have been 'shopping' in Brighton. (I hate it!).
The next storm is forecast for Friday, so hold on to your hats and stay safe...

Stuart

Been at work all night, in a major food retailler in Ramsgate, Kent. the roof of my mangers office caved in and flooded :biggrin-new::biggrin-new::biggrin-new::santahat: ,rest of the store is fine. On a more serious note, its been quite bad around here, a bit of Debanhams fell off as did a bit of Primark. Hope everyone is safe and thay enjoy there x-mas.

Starting to look a bit brighter here in South Wales, few fences down locally, and loose items from gardens strewn around.
