Black Box Sims Britten Norman BN2T Released.

Looks nice, but even with the 15% discount it's not enough to lure me away from their piston engined Islander. Not yet, anyway - these things have a habit of growing on me.

I would agree, I also have the piston version and am very happy with it. I don't know that I would need a second version considering the amount I might fly it over the current piston.

I'll probably pick it up before the sale ends. I like the piston version, but having the extra speed that should come with the kerosene burner will just be icing on the cake.

I really like Blackbox's planes, but I already have the Island and Trislander and that's a pretty good representation of this class for me.

Would love to hear impressions from Tom and anyone else who picks it up, though! Likely will snag it on a sale.

Looks nice. I have their Islander, their Trislander, and their Short 360 and fly them all regularly. I'll definitely be picking this up, but probably in FS2024.

The instrument choices are unique. You only get the GTN750, along with a GI275 ADI/HSI pair of glass instruments - lots of info in a very small space with those two.

It flies nicely, but on approach, it's slick as oil on ice, even with full flaps. The engine simulation is also new - at least to me. I'm used to the three-lever control on the PT-6's that are almost ubiquitous in the sim world. But each Allison engine has one single lever for prop and fuel control. And forget beta for taxi control. Any slight interruption of airflow and the engines become beacons - at least according to the temp gauges. I don't know if any of that's realistic, but that's what I found on my one flight so far.

The one thing that really bugs me is that instead of including a tablet, they put all of those functions into a toolbar menu option. When you're flying literally anything else, opening that window just gives an "unknown aircraft" error in the window. Luckily, you can turn off that button in the toolbar settings menu. At least the toggle switched for the doors are gone...

The screenshots in this announcement include one that features that popout.
