A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Aircraft - British

Description: RP/BH/BH Blackburn Beverley C1 for CFS2 by UncleTgt

This is a conversion of the FS2002 Beverley MkC1 by Brian Horsey, Ralph Pegram & Bob Hazeldine.

Any crashcheck or g_lightstate entries in the model have been removed, so it can be flown in Freeflight or Quick Combat. The "globe" payload has been removed by using MDLmat & alpha transparencies. A new airfile was developed for CFS2, as was a new DP file. The dp file uses kelticheart exhaust effects. Payloads included are US Jeeps(should really be UK vehicles), &/or Jim Jacobsens Supply Airdrop or Paratroopers. In the end I decided against developing a "no cargo door model" as the paradrop payloads just looked silly in the hold with the chute already deployed.

The panel is WIN7+ safe, & the VC panel clarity has been improved.

I decided to try to develop a new sound file, & used Audacity sampling software to beef up some of the engine sounds. My starting points were the DC-4 soundpack by Willy McCoy, & the FS2002 Beverley soundpack.

The external textures were redrawn from scratch.

The textures included are: XM112, 34 sqn RAF, Seletar circa September 1962. In white over alum grey.

XL150, 34 sqn RAF, Seletar circa April 1967. The sole 34 sqn aircraft in the RAF's new Chocolate bomber camouflage, this aircraft & crew was lost to a crash during bad weather at Johor Baru, Malaysia, 15 December 1967.

XM106, 84 sqn RAF, Kenya circa July 1967. In chocolate bomber camo.

To install, unzip the download to a temporary location & move/ copy files to the matching folder names inside your chosen CFS 2 install.

Thanks to: Brian Horsey, Ralph Pegram & Bob Hazeldine for the original FS2002 Beveley.

Kelticheart for his prop bitmaps & exhaust effects.

This is freeware and subject to the usual conditions

Thanks very much UT!

Got them downloaded, separated into separate AC folders and did some quick screenie-op flying.

They're beautiful!

UncleTgt,

Nice work! The British seem to have a knack for building ungainly yet somehow graceful aircraft, don’t they?
