• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

ANY thoughts please.........haven't loaded anything funky or tweaked lately but.....OFF playing beautifully until recently when...I hit OFF manager....screen flickers once and then goes blank...black....gotta restart to see the screen again. Game loads and plays fine when I hit the shell.exe or the OFF.bat.....but I cannot load the manager to change campaigns and so on.........tried deleting uisel....no go???? Thanks....GAW
 
one other thing

also, maybe significant....after restarting the puter I DO NOT get that "CFS3 was not shut down properly" message which I've ALWAYS had in the past....must be some disconnect somewhere....just don't quite know how to fix it.
 
Sounds like something may have gotten corrupted in the meat of the game, or maybe a registry entry went south.
 
no doubt..............any idea what the fix might be.....if it's a reinstall I'll have to wait for P3....lost my P2 install files
 
It's a very familiar to actors and actresses. Commonly called stagefright.
Five seconds to walking on stage and you can't remember a line!! THe only worrying factor is that it might happen to those boffins who are working on OFF3 and can't remember where they put the bookmark as to what they did last.
NOw that would be worrying.
My advice.
Give the PC a kick, tap the gauge and go outside, walk around a bit and come back and try again. Do the lights in the hallway work? No? Then, its a power cut.
Sorry but thats about the limit of my technical expertise..

Probably config file or other file corrupt. If the manager won't even run then you can try looking for OBD registry entries and delete em (backup your registry and files first if you have no idea how to use regedit).
OR reinstall yes.

the stalk continues

starting the mission builder from its folder in the game yeilds the following pop-up......."application unable, etc....missing msvcp70.dll" But in fact there is a msvcp70.dll in the game folder...???? Just what is a dll and is this the registry misfit you spoke of Pol? Thanks.....gaw
 
I have never used it, but it won;t find DLL's in the parent
"CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields" folder as it's in a subfolder in there MB

I'd say right click on mb.exe and create a shortcut send to desktop, then right click on the new shortcut and change the path show in "Start in". remove the
MB off the end so you have..

"X:\YOURFOLDERS BLAH BLAH\CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields"
