Great find, I saw a TV show on the "beef haulers" flying out of those high and hot strips, they pushed that convair back to the edge of the strip and went to 60" and 2800 RPM and let the brakes go and roared down the short runway and barely got that old boy airborne, sucked up the gear and lumberd off. IIRC the end of the runway had a drop away and they could get some airspeed up to get out of there.
