Ive just downloaded the skins & the B17 from Donationware, & am a bit confused with the supplied aircraft.cfg in the texture zip.
[fltsim.0]
title=USAF-Boeing B-17E WW
sim=USAF-Boeing B-17E Ww
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=
kb_checklists=checklist_B17

[fltsim.1]
title=USAF-Boeing B-17E WW-1
sim=USAF-Boeing B-17E Ww
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=1
kb_checklists=checklist_B17

[WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE].... etc..

There is no ui_manufacturer, ui_type nor ui_variation supplied.

What would be suitable to complete the [flightsim.0] & the [flightsim.1]?

I take it for granted that the textures are for FS2004, & NOT for FSX as stated: the "texture.303as" folder in this file to your "WOP2_B17G" folder in FSX. in the 1st texture folder.

Thanks for the textures, & whilst they do look great, the various documentation are quite confusing.

Hmmmm... didn't notice that. I just copied the last entry in my UI sections, pasted it in, and made the necessary edits rather than using the incomplete section from the download. That's what I always do, so I didn't pay attention to what was in the ReadMe file.

I would add:
ui_manufacturer = Boeing
ui_type=B-17 Flying Fortress
ui_ variation: B-17E, xxxBG Assembly Ship
description= blurb telling a little about the plane depicted by the skin, taken from the ReadMe in the download.

You may have the ui_ lines different in your B-17E cfg file, so you'll want to make your new entries match the format of your existing ones. Make the ui_manufacturer and ui_type lines match your existing ones, or else your new skins won't show up right with the existing ones on your select aircraft menu.

Short version: set up your new entries the same as as your existing ones.
