Bomber formation behaviour?

Flying some quick missions i noticed the bombers still break up formation immidiately after the first attack,has this never been adressed or is it only in quick mission bacause they don't have a goal?
I'd really like to attack large bomber formations on route flying in tight formation which is more realistic?
 
Check ....

.....to see if you are using dogfight or bomber intercept. The planes will behave differently because of the option you select. BTW which bombers are you using?
