Boom Supersonic's XB-1 Hits Mach 1.1!

I stopped watching the video when the guy claimed the experimental plane had to slow down else the following plane would not catch up. I thought the Mirage F1 can reach Mach2...
 
Might have been more of an error on the commentator's part. According to Wiki, it maxes out at 2.2, but the question is how much fuel and how much time it takes to get there.

The big takeaway from this though is the fact that, for the first time anywhere on Earth, an all-civilian clean sheet designed aircraft has broken the speed of sound.
