brady & the fish-pirates go west

back to segs.
chinook landing... welp, not my speciality. squiggly appraoch required due to pilot terror.

wireless went out, so no duenna map. here's the flight map.

also pic of my copilot Murphy.
He didnt say much. but the scientists...or whatever they are...got his drift.
This chopper stinks. Good thing I can close the cabin door on the next transport leg.

stuck at segs waiting on a transport to mm1h. negotiating with the venzuelans for a 727, but they keep telling me it needs 7000 feet of landing room. Murph cooking spam from the RAF chopper. Scientists looking guilty...who ARE these guys?

endo z line

crash at mm1h, alas. :p

missed the lineup on the turn to 19 and blew it.
guess I aint ready for prime time jist yit. But great learnin, nonetheless.

piccies for scadenfreude fans. nice ride, the hjg 721!

well fellers, it's a new year!
I dont want to be a quitter, and if you dont mind I will take another shot at the long jet leg and see if I can get these fish pirates home in one piece. Or should I begin all over at segs with the chopper work?

Go for it !

Other comments aside, make sure you 'off' all but a dozen pax before departure, and likely half your fuel. 100K lbs of weight are hard to stop on 4k ft. of gravel.

Good luck.

...I may join you in this insanity, that 727-100 is a beauty I rarely get to fly.

roger that. it's a fun plane. ran low on fuel last run, too, but it may have been the payload was too much.
jet-o-nomics not my strong point.

That's why we test and make notes.. even the FS Flight Planner will give a rough guess of how much fuel you need (add a bit) but better to test a leg and check fuel before/after to get an idea- before you do a live Duenna run.

Same with payload - use a shortish runway and see how it does at a couple of diff weights.

..and yes, the heli shuttle legs are in the books. No need to relive the experiences.

Ya may want to trade in the 727 for the 737, it runs at the same speed/alt but climbs like a mother, and fly's like a giant cessna.

...and the otto is friendlier.
