'Brian Vickers Takes The Win!'

Yeah, evidently when Dale listens to his crew chief, he can get a top 10 (in this case, top 5) finish! Good race and the last 4 laps were nail biters watching to see who, if anyone, would run out of fuel. Jimmy Johnson and Mark Martin gambled and lost today.

GO Brian...i looooooooove Brian i must say.....him n carl are two of my favs and im very happy to see him win one ..but i dont think he would have passed jimmie if the 48 crew had not run out of fuel...just my opin ion

A good win for Vickers, but a sorry race compared to yesterday's Nationwide race.

Y'all gotta remember, Junior's last win came at Michigan and was decided by fuel strategy, much like today's race. I can't stand those fuel races.

I sure hope Bristol holds more in store for the Cup race than the past three, boring to the extreme for Bristol. I can take consolation in that there will be a Truck race Wednesday night and a Nationwide race Friday night, they should prove very Bristol exciting indeed. But I don't look for much in the Cup race, the COT has ruined short track racing. And next year they'll be racing the COT in the Nationwide series with less HP. YAWN!

excepty for the fact that Jr. wasn't participatiing in the 'fuel' strategy game...he took fuel and 4 tires when the top 6 or 7 stayed out on the last caution and passed people like they were sitting stll to get to 3rd...in the words of Chad Kanaus to Jimmie Johnson...'the 88 is coming like a bat outta hell'.

running the high groove on top of that:medals:

Hey All,

Yes good to see a Vickers win! :medals: and a good Jr finish.

The race for the chase is gonna be interesting these next 3 races. Jimmy could afford to gamble as he's probably in the chase no matter what. Martin was sure sweatin it I bet - even though I don't think he could have done much worse. This makes twice this year the 48 has been bit by fuel strategy at this track. Good thing it's not one of the final 10 as it is clear to me the cautions are not falling as the 48 figures them to.

Well, Bristol is unlikely to be exciting since it is now a “2-groove” track. Lets face it, Bristol used to be exciting because the only way to pass was to shove the other guy out of the way, which lead to retaliation, which led to fights! Ever since they paved it, you can pass without bumping into other cars. What’s the fun in that? Ironically, the drivers seem to like the “new” Bristol better, for the exact reason the fans hate it. Same goes for Michigan and California. The drivers rave about how awesome those tracks are and how much they love racing there. Fans hate both tracks. Interesting correlation, no?
