Bristol Blenheim Mk. I released by Baldy!

Not to long ago there was a thread saying that current Blenheim models although supposedly multi-lod gave high frame rates - well I thought I'd have a go at doing something about it.

With the help of the inestimable UncleTgt I have produced the first in a series of all new multi-lod Blenheims - this one being the Blenheim MkI day bomber and I shall be uploading it after this

This pic of a flight of four shows the frame rate - I hope it proves satisfactory to all you mission builders

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Aircraft - British

Description: Twin engined aircraft designed before the war as fast. light bomber, unfortunately when war broke out fighter technology had overtaken the Blenheim leaving it at the mercy of enemy a/c. In the absence of better aircraft it had to soldier on for some years until replaced. Blenheims served with several air forces and in the European, Middle Eastern and Far Eastern theatres of war.

Baldy,

Thank you very much for doing this; I'll put her in a sample mission sometime this weekend and see how she shakes out! :very_drunk:

Just for info, the MkI ships with 3 different textures:

62 squadron RAF, Malaya, December 1941

211 Squadron RAF, Eygpt, November 1940

Royal Hellenic Air Force March 1941

A screengrab of the other 2 schemes:

Thank you!!! :redfire:

One dumb question though. Where do we find the needed 'wep_raf_pilot' and 'wep_raf_gunner_rear' ? They are not those made by William Dickens for his Beaufighter series.

Following the launch of the new Blenheim series I have today uploaded the new MkIF day /night fighter model

note to Rami : I forgot to fill in the keywords line, it should read 'Bristol Blenheim MkIF.zip'

The bomber version seems to have been well received ( thank you for your comments ) I hope you like this one as well

Bristol Blenheim Mk. IF.zip

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Aircraft - British

Description: This a/c was a modified Mk. I for use as a day / night fighter because the RAF had to use anything available for fighter duties owing to the Luftwaffe's numerical superiority.

The modification simply involved adding a four gun (.303) pack to the belly of the aircraft. Unfortunately the lack of speed made the Mk. IF vunerable to enemy fighters and forced the RAF to relegate them to night fighter duties until replaced by Beaufighters. A number of Mk. IFs were shipped to the Middle East.
