Bristol Britannia from me...

Since I've never been around a Britannia, I have no idea what it sounds like. So I'm using the sound pack that Milton supplied with his Dash 7's. I tried the Britsnd pack, but you could hear the looping too well.

Thank you, Jens for the beautiful Brittania. My father used to work for BOAC and he told me stories of flying in the Brittania from Calcutta, India to London, England via, Persia, Lebanon, Italy and Switzerland. Those were the days!
You gift made it possible for me to relive some of my Dad's experiences and I thank you most heartily for this.

At least the CL-44D (RCAF CC-106 Yukon) and the D-4 (swing tail freighter) were equipped with the RR Tyne 515/10.

Another FANTASTIC aircraft. Thank you very very much for the Britannia and the Felixstowe and all the other amazing aircraft you have done and freely shared with the flight sim community.
For the Britannia, I am using a C-130 sound pack. I have no idea what a Britannia sounds like in real life, so the C-130 pack is good enough for me. Sounds great coming through my 5.1 channel surround speakers and scares the dogs and fish perfectly well.

The Brit was called the "Whispering Giant" because from the outside it was wonderfully quiet, rather less so from the inside. The brtsnd pack is the best that I've come across so far, the flap and undercarriage sounds are pretty spot on but the engine sounds aren't quite right, and the Proteus sounded totally different from the Tyne. And nothing like a C130. But then, the noise inside an empty Brit freighter was completely different from one with a full passenger load. Probably the brtsnd pack is the best compromise.

Haining, I share your opinion. The times I saw the Britannias fly last (Monarch's 312's), one from Rotterdam (t/o and landing) and one flying low over Amsterdam's town centre, it was very obvious why they were called 'Whispering Giant'. Indeed, very different from the C-130 and even more different from the whining CL-44.

If you go to Classic British Flight Sim, you will see Garry Russell's Bristol
Mk32 Superfreighter which is in late Beta. Unfortunatly its on hold temporarily until Garry returns to health. But it will be worth waiting for
and the Mk31/21/Wayfarer version's will not be far behind.
