So who is this Jimmie Johnson guy anyway? Never heard of him..!

I guess we know who is the favorite pick for the cham-peen-ship this year (again). I was actually pulling for the 2 car at the end, but it was not to be. It was a decent race. Those 48 guys just can't be stopped. They're on fire. Bad news form the rest of the field.

Yep, things keep on going this way it will certainly be the weekly Jimmy Johnson Show. Other teams need to pick up the pace.

I'm glad the #48 won over the #2 .....:d
Good race overall, tough luck for those involved in the get together with the #16 & #5....

Nope, this year, Jimmie runs away with it until the final ten races. I have choked the chicken, ju-ju will overcome his huge accumulation of points during the regular season in the Chase for the Chump. This year, he will be the true Chump! :bump:

Toyotas are looking BAD, Hamlin cannot catch a break. Let's get that wing removed and the spoiler on, I'm ready to watch some fender bending at Martinsville.

Hey All,

Panther Penske is the only full time Dodge team. Terry Cook (46) is trying to be full time and a few (3? I think) part timers are also trying to run Dodges but the only team of note is Penske. I think the numbers are close to Chevy 16 teams, Ford 12 teams, Toyota 13 teams and Dodge 4 teams. I'm cheering Penske on as I am a Mopar guy - I like Kurt Busch, I like Brad Keselowski and I'm trying to like Hornish Jr. Really good to see Kyle Busch crew chief (Steve Addington) last year now Kurt Busch crew chief this year. I think he has really elevated Penske's game.

As for the 48 - well he just doin what the 48 does - win. Only 5 tracks now that he hasn't won on (Chicagoland, Michigan, Homestead and the two road courses). Hopefully he can knock out a few more of those this year. He still needs 4 more wins this year to maintain his average of 6 wins a year for his entire career and he has this year and next to win the Cup and maintain his average of winning the championship every other year (winning the championship 50% of the years he drives) since he first started driving cup.

His chances are good at Martinsville as he likes those grandfather clocks. :jump:

I gave the direct coverage we get here another go but I find the entire show as boring as the opening F1 round this season.
I mean, is it set in stone that camera coverage must be either from those dumb in ground cameras and anything else is shot from some 1000 metres out???
Are the commentary 'team' really as dumb as they come across??
Perhaps NASCAR (and F1) should have a look at the way race events are covered in Oz, not that it would ever be considered.
I must be getting old and grumpy, I never missed any races that found there way 'Down Under' between 1990 and 2000, but these days I can't find any reason to bother with inane commentary and the yellow flag mentality.
And a PS:I know Bristol is tight but a yellow each time a car brushed the wall???
